President Billee Culin contacted Home Depot to install railings on front and back stairs in May and they were installed at Rich And Kathi Tauer's home in July by volunteer Home Depot employees. Veterans helping veterans.

New officers and a AVVA representative were elected and sworn in on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. See the Officers page on this website for the list of officers and AVVA representative information. The officers of Chapter 1043 were sworn in by Ted Vogt, Director, Arizona Department of Veteran Services.

Debbie Lee is a Gold Star Mother who's son Marc Lee was the 1st Navy Seal killed in Iraq. In honor of her son, she has dedicated her entire home to his memory and to the families and soldiers that come thru Surprise to stay for as long as they need to meditate, etc. Chapter 1043 had the Sanctuary built in her back yard dedicated to the branches of the military. Yesterday we had the dedication.

members. - Laid a wreath for the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Pearl Harbor at Wesley Bolin Park, Phoenix, AZ.

- The 3rd Annual Women Veterans Conference in Phoenix. We had a table with information for women veterans of the Vietnam Era.
- Greeted the riders of Run for the Wall in Tolleson, AZ to show our support and made a monetary donation that assisted a young veteran to be able to participate in the ride.
- Participated in the Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National Veterans Cemetery.
- Participated in the Memorial Day Observance at Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, Arizona.
February, 2011
- Donated $500 to help with Stand Down 2011 that provides assistance to homeless veterans in the Phoenix area.
- We also had a table at Stand Down with information about help for Vietnam Veterans.

- Sponsored a young veteran and family who would not have had a Christmas without the generosity of the members with toys, clothing, food, gift cards and cash donated by the members.
