Who We Are

VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code

VVA'S FOUNDING PRINCIPLE
"Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another."

Our West Valley Chapter 1043
The following are some of the activities that members of West Valley Chapter 1043 Vietnam Veterans of America have participated in since we were chartered in October 2010:

December 2010 - Sponsored a young veteran and family who would not have had a Christmas without the generosity of the members with toys, clothing, food, gift cards and cash donated by the members.

February 2011  - Donated $500 to help with Stand Down 2011 that provides assistance to homeless veterans in the Phoenix area.  We also had a table at Stand Down with information about help for Vietnam Veterans.

May 2011          - The 3rd Annual Women Veterans Conference in Phoenix.  We had a table with information for women veterans of the Vietnam Era.

                          - Greeted the riders of Run for the Wall in Tolleston, AZ to show our support and made a monetary donation that assisted a young veteran to be able to participate in the ride.

                          - Participated in the Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National Veterans Cemetery.

                          - Participated in the Memorial Day Observance at Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, Arizona.

December 2011 - Sponsored two young veterans and their families who would not have had Christmas with toys, clothing, food, gift cards and $300 in cash all donated by our members.

                           - Laid a wreath for the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Pearl Harbor at Wesley Boylin Park, Phoenix, AZ.

February 2012  -  Participated in the annual massing of the Colors/Service of Remembrance Ceremony in Peoria, AZ.

                           - Supported Stand Down 2012 by purchasing 15 $50 gift cards from Target for 15 homeless Women Veterans.

Currently the members of West Valley Chapter 1043  are working together with Debbie Lee of America's Mighty Warriors to help with the dwelling in Surprise, AZ for the veterans and their families with maintenance and possibly a fire pit in the backyard.

NRP Group is the project manager for the new Madison Pointe Project in Phoenix to provide low cost housing for veterans.  There will be ten (10) units for veterans in need/assistance.  West Valley Chapter 1043 will be furnishing one of the units in the complex.
